UNDERSTANDING INTERCEPTIONS

~ A Key to Unlocking the Door ~

written by Chris McRae

published by The American Federation of Astrologers

Chris has lived most of her life at latitudes between 51 and 53 degrees north where about 82 percent of all charts contain at least one set of intercepted signs.  She believes this has heightened her perception of this chart condition at all latitudes and helped unlock the door to its interpretation.   Inspiration and interpretive responses were gleaned from the hundreds of students and clients with whom she shared her concepts. Many of these stories are repeated in the book to bring the principles to life.   She was urged to write the book by many astrologers who heard her lecture on the subject.

From 'Mountain Astrologer' magazine ......

Canadian astrologer Chris McRae has taught interceptions for years. Her book is thoroughly researched, with lots of supporting data, documented birth times, charts, and life stories. She covers all imaginable facets of interceptions in this book: house systems and the mechanics of interceptions; transits or progressions of planets into intercepted houses (or onto intercepted planets); progressed house cusps; intercepted signs (and repeating signs); and intercepted planets. McRae is an experienced teacher, and she excels at making a potentially complicated subject understandable without oversimplifying the concepts involved. The author observes that intercepted signs or planets are more deeply emphasized because they engender inner pressure to focus on a specific task; McRae calls this "intensification due to internalization." (Interestingly, many people of great wealth have Taurus-Scorpio intercepted; the author's list includes Merv Griffin, Bill Gates, Bill Cosby, Ross Perot, and Steven Spielberg.) The author's thorough treatment of the subject includes sections on the developmental process connecting the signs on the cusps of the houses surrounding the intercepted sign is on the cusp of that house and Taurus is on the succeeding house cusp. McRae links these into a developmental story. Another example of the level of detail in this book is her consideration of the same sign on two consecutive house cusps. Chris McRae does not derive a sense of impairment or repression from interceptions. She writes: "I do not look upon any part of our charts as being disadvantaged. I like to think that every part is for the purpose of some type of development or quest." This book will appeal to astrologers who are past the beginner level and are interested in a more intricate view of intercepted signs and houses.

In American Astrology magazine, Ken Irving writes.....

"This is the definitive book on interception, and it will likely remain so for years to come."

Lois Rodden writes.....

"Chris McRae probably knows more about interceptions than anyone on the planet, and with years of nagging from her fans, she has finally come out with her book."

Rowena Wall, on her website, wrote.......

"Chris is a great writer and makes her subject easily understood. This is a book that every astrologer should have in their library, and I'm certain that all of them will want to."
