When people think of Astrology, they automatically think the horoscope section on the comics page of the news paper. But what is Astrology really?

Astrology is the affect celestial bodies have on human affairs

How should and can astrology be used in our lives?

As a tool to understand the flow of energy encompassing us

What can you, as an Astrologer do to help a person?

By letting a person know if they are working with positive or negative energy patterns

Are there different types of astrology?

There are many types of astrology, such as: personal, medical, political, economic, and meteorological, to name but a few.

What is the difference between Western and Eastern Astrology?

Western Astrology deals more with everyday affairs of your current life and Eastern Astrology deals more with the Karma of many lifetimes.

What is the history of astrology?

Astrology is the mother of Astronomy. Astrology dates back to the time of the Babylonians around 10,000 BC

What is a horoscope?

A horoscope is like taking a picture of our universe, at the precise time and place that a person is born, and putting the energy pattern on paper, for further analysis.

What is an Ecliptic?

This is the path (highway in the sky) a planet takes to go around the sun. For example: The earths' ecliptic path travels through 12 star constellations, which we call the Zodiac

The Planets:

Each sign is ruled by a planet, What are these planets and how do they work for our signs?

The Sun rules Leo - vitality, the ego, individuality
The Moon rules Cancer -  nurturing, emotional security
Mercury rules Gemini & Virgo - the messenger, the intellect
Venus rules Taurus & Libra - love, what you hold most dear
Mars rules Aries -  action, dynamic energy
Jupiter rules Sagittarius -  freedom, optimistic expansion
Saturn rules Capricorn -  ambition, success, achievements
Uranus rules Aquarius -  rebellious, ideas, inventions
Neptune rules Pisces -  imagination, subconscious mind
Pluto rules Scorpio - power, chaos and transformation

The Four Elements:

Fire, Water, Earth and Air

Explain

Fire is enthusiastic, and freedom loving

(Aries, Leo, Sagittarius)
Earth is practical, organized and ambitious

(Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn)
Air is curious, harmonious, and humanitarian

(Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)
Water is emotional, loyal and sympathetic

(Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)

The Three Qualities:

Explain

Cardinal: - leadership - plants the seed

(Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)
Fixed: - builders - nurtures and harvests

(Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius)
Mutable: - marketers - salesman

(Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces)

The Polarities:

Negative signs - the glass is half empty

Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Cap., Pisces

The Astrological Houses:

Explain

A Chart (horoscope) is represented by the 12 constellations of the Zodiac that our earth's ecliptic path navigates around the sun.

Tell me about The 12 houses:

what does each house represent?

House 1: How you present yourself.
House 2: What you hold most dear.
House 3: How you listen, talk, think and learn.
House 4: How you end things.
House 5: What you enjoy, where you shine.
House 6: How you solve your daily dilemmas.
House 7: How you relate to others.
House 8: What motivates you to investigate.
House 9: Your moral ethics and philosophies.
House10: Your concept of success.
House11: Your friendships, hopes, and wishes.
House12: Your beliefs, fears, hidden strengths.

The Patterns:

The pattern of elements and qualities in the astrological signs is
constant — every third sign has the same element. Every fourth sign has the same quality.

(I've heard this - is this true?)

Yes it's true, but there are subtle differences.

The Qualities:
Cardinal signs are starters, and take the lead: Aries explores, Cancer protects, Libra harmonizes, Capricorn achieves

Fixed signs take root and establish: Taurus nurtures, Leo creates, Scorpio investigates, Aquarius invents.

Mutable signs follow and make adjustments: Gemini communicates, Virgo organizes, Sagittarius expands, Pisces believes

The Elements:
Fire signs are enthusiastic and pioneering: Aries are impulsive, Leo is dramatic, Sagittarius is optimistic.

Earth signs are practical and organized: Taurus has common sense, Virgo is analytical and Capricorn is reliable.

Water signs are emotionally nurturing: Cancer gives security, Scorpio gives strength and Pisces gives sympathy.

How do you know which signs are compatible with your own?

Actually all signs are compatible with all signs, some are just less challenging with each other. The Sun Sign is only 10% of the chart - so we need to look at the other 90% to see where the compatibility lies. Generally speaking, signs in the same element usually fit together. The quality signs usually conflict.

How can one predict the nature of a relationship using astrology?

Each relationship needs basic compatible energy to interact. Parents need to bond with children, Lovers need to bond. etc. Comparing the charts of 2 people, reading the energy patters can tell how the relationship will progress - or not.

How can one predict their future through astrology?

Astrology is very useful in this type of prediction, as planetary energies are predictable, so are relationships. Interpretation is all that is required.

What are moon signs?

Emotional needs of the Moon in the Signs
Aries needs activity
Taurus needs security
Gemini needs expression
Cancer needs to nurture
Leo needs acceptance
Virgo needs clarity
Libra needs harmony
Scorpio needs trust
Sagittarius needs freedom
Capricorn needs stability
Aquarius needs independence
Pisces needs imagination
