New Horizons Probe ~ Trip Chart
New Horizons probe was launched on January 19th, 2006 at 2 P.M. EST from Cape Canaveral. This is the first space probe to Pluto. The rocket carrying New Horizons is very fast, it got to the moon's orbit in just 9 hours and was nearly 1 million miles away from Earth just 24 hours after its launch. An article at
www.usatoday.com by the Associated Press states that
information will be sent back to us by about July 14, 2015
Delineation: New Horizons Probe – Launch Chart 1. Gemini, ruler Mercury in Capricorn in the 8th house of discoveries. An ambitious undertaking. 2. Cancer, ruler Moon in Virgo in the 5th house of creativity and taking chances. The security of this trip is ever changing requiring many adjustments along the way. 3. Cancer, ruler Moon in Virgo, Saturn in Leo (Mutual Reception the Sun) in the 3rd house of communication. Saturn restricts and limits parameters, a very strong indication that there will be some problems contacting the probe during the course of the trip. 4. Leo, ruler Sun in Capricorn at 29° in the 9th house of long distance travel. The 4th house is the end result of the trip. In this chart, with the Sun at 29° (void of course) in Mutual Reception with Saturn, it will be difficult to keep track of the probe, and we will probably never know the final destination of where the probe ends up. 5. Virgo, ruler Mercury in Capricorn. A lot of meticulous planning went into this trip. The Moon in Virgo in the 5th house trines the Sun, indicating success. 6. Libra, ruler Venus Retrograde in the 8th house. Scorpio intercepted, ruler Pluto in the 7th house (Mutual Reception with Jupiter). Venus protects the health of the mission, but, it is retrograde, so, there are some reversals. Dilemmas and frustrating minor annoyances plague the trip. Jupiter in Scorpio (Mutual Reception with Pluto) in the 6th brings “Lady Luck” into the equation, thus ensuring a measure of success. 7. Sagittarius, ruler Jupiter in the 6th house. Pluto in Sagittarius at 25 Sagittarius (the Galactic Centre) in the 7th house. This is an exclusive ‘Once in a Lifetime’ experience. The people working on this project will have long lasting, powerful memories. 8. Capricorn, ruler Saturn in the 3rd house. Venus and Mercury in Capricorn in the 8th house. The 8th house represents the resources of the trip. With Saturn ruling, big business and government stand behind this endeavour. This project is of great consequence to their reputation. Achievement is imperative and failure is not an option. There is a lot to be learned and many mysteries of the universe are uncovered. 9. Capricorn, ruler Saturn in the 3rd house. Sun in Capricorn, Fortuna and Neptune in Aquarius in the 9th house. This is the house of long distance travel, quite appropriate that Sun should occupy this house. At 29°, we have a strong indication that there were problems launching the probe, and the window of opportunity was closing fast, when the final decision to launch was made. Kind of like “It’s now or never”. 10. Aquarius, ruler Uranus in Pisces in the 10th house. Uranus is in Mutual Reception with Neptune. This house represents the fate of the trip. With Uranus ruling and in the 10th, there a few surprises on the horizon. Uranus inconjunct Saturn, adjustments are problematic, with unexpected results. The probe deviates from its’ projected flight path and sends back pictures of some unusual objects. 11. Pisces, ruler Neptune in Aquarius, North Node in Aries in the 11th sextile Fortuna in the 9th. The eleventh house represents large scale events, unusual and unconventional situations, and the purpose of the trip. Pisces says a strong and unwavering belief that the trip will achieve its’ objectives, is a necessity for this endeavour. Strong hopes and wishes for the fulfilment of the goals set for the trip. The North Node in Aries, here says this is a ‘first’ into unknown territory. A pioneering event, which has long term effects. 12. Aries, ruler Mars in Taurus in the 12th house, Taurus, intercepted, ruler Venus in the 8th house. Inner strength required to ensure this mission’s success is fortified by courageous Mars, even when things go wrong.
July 14, 2015, is the day that the probe is to reach Pluto, and send information back to earth.
The transits, particularly, the outer planets, during the summer of 2015, do not make very many
aspects back to the launch chart. Pluto is the focal planet, and makes no contact at all back to the
launch chart. Neptune conjuncts Uranus briefly in August and Uranus squares Venus in July. Jupiter
is inconjunct Mercury, so we know that long distance communication has broken down.
Looking ahead a little further, transits really zero in on the launch chart on Jan. 19, 2016. The transit chart (right) activates the launch chart as follows: Pluto, 16° Capricorn, is square to Jupiter. A challenge to find out what caused the delay. Neptune, 8° Pisces, is conjunct Uranus. The first objective of the trip is reached. Uranus, 16° Aries, is sextile Neptune and inconjunct Jupiter. Opportunity to put probe back on track by re-adjusting directional parameters. Jupiter and North Node at 23° Virgo, is conjunct the 5th house and inconjunct the MC. The probe now makes a course correction and continues on to its’ final destination and a new social consciousness regarding our universe is born. Mars, 8° Scorpio, is square Saturn and trine Uranus. Frustrating mechanical problems discovered, ingenuity fixes the deficiencies and the probe continues its’ exploration trip. Venus, 25° Sagittarius (The Galactic Centre) is conjunct Pluto. History is made, changing forever how we view our galaxy. Mercury, retrograde, 17° Capricorn, is trine Mars. Communication is back on track and maximum warp speed is resumed. Sun, 29° Capricorn, is conjunct the Sun. The end of a cycle. Results to this point in time are very rewarding. Moon, 7° Gemini, is conjunct the Ascendant of the launch chart. The probe begins the next part of the journey and continues on to its’ final destination.
In 2025 the New Horizons Probe is to complete its’ exploration of the Kuiper Comet Belt, where a larger object than Pluto has been discovered, nicknamed “Xena”. But, already by September 8, 2024, the transits back to the launch chart bring us some interesting reports: Pluto, 29° Capricorn, is conjunct the Sun. The end of a cycle as far as we will ever know. The probe has reached its’ final communication point, and will not be able to send us anymore information. The probe will continue on to the far unknown places in space until it's systems no longer function. Neptune, 28° Pisces, is opposition the Moon. There is some confusion about what we see and what we believe to be logical. Information is conflicting. The data collected by the probe is overwhelming and not readily understood. Uranus, 27° Taurus, is trine the Moon. A lot of information is kept private, only part of the data is released to the general public. The cost of this mission is disclosed. Saturn, 16° Pisces, is trine Jupiter. A well executed plan comes together. Team work proves it can be done. Jupiter, 19° Gemini, is inconjunct Venus. A change of priorities and structure of people responsible for tracking the probe is required. An alternate plan is put into place. Mars, 2° Cancer, is conjunct the 2nd house. The full cost of this endeavour hits home, but this does not diminish hope for the future travels of the probe. Mercury, 29° Leo, is inconjunct the Sun. The end of a cycle. This is likely the last we will hear of the probe. Sun, 16° Virgo, is sextile Jupiter and inconjunct Neptune. The opportunity for further investigation is inviting and very compelling. Conclusive evidence changes our philosophical beliefs. Moon, 16° Scorpio, is conjunct Jupiter. Mysterious details of the universe are revealed. An astonishing discovery trip. written by Inge Lohse - reference book: Astrology for the Traveler ~ Trip Charts |
