2010 Astrological Influences

Square Dance of the Outer Planets 2010 to 2012

Pluto in Capricorn: January 24, 2008 to January 24, 2024

Saturn in Libra: October 29, 2009 to October 5, 2012

Uranus in Aries: May 26, 2010 to March 6, 2019

The last major cardinal T-Square between Pluto - Uranus and Saturn was from 1929 – 1932. At that time Pluto was in Cancer, Uranus in Aries and Saturn in Capricorn. In 1929 the stock market crashed and then came the great depression of the dirty 30’s.

The current upcoming Cardinal T-square of Pluto (debt) Uranus (speculation) and Saturn (loss) promises to bring a prolonged period of economic crisis, severe financial losses, excessive speculation, and a large increase in debt; resulting in major social unrest and upheaval.

2010 brings some significant changes. Pluto  is in the sign of Capricorn, Neptune is in the late degrees of Aquarius, Uranus enters the sign of Aries, Saturn is in the sign of Libra and Jupiter is in the sign of Pisces.

Pluto in Capricorn

Pluto in Capricorn is about structure, building a solid economic and responsible social structure for future generations. Pluto will transform all that Capricorn stands for, particularly  relating to big business and government.

Pluto is about power and control. Governments will use autocratic power to control the masses. They will use their electoral mandate to do this, all in the name of security to protect us. We, the people will have very few secrets from our government: from surveillance cameras, to iris scanning, to mandatory picture identification, our governments will be able to track our every movement.

Pluto is about paranoia, fear, terror and surveillance. During this transit, a select few will secretly wield enormous power. Democracy as we know it today will be redefined.

Corporations, too, will continue to monitor what we, the people, spend our money on, through Credit Cards, Bank Cards, etc. This actually  started when Pluto transited Scorpio, from 1984 to 1995 (remember when bar codes became mandatory) and now, has become an integral part of our daily lives. Our individual privacy is being eroded bit by bit, slowly but surely. Cash may be the only untraceable source of currency, any may soon become obsolete for that reason. Big business will shift from West to East. While Pluto transited Sagittarius, a lot of jobs were exported East, (Asia in particular). China has become a big economic player. While  Pluto transits the sign of Capricorn Western Businesses may loose their powerful financial control as a result.

Pluto was last in the sign of Capricorn from 1762 to 1777.

Uranus in Aries

Uranus in Aries is direct and impulsive. The keyword here is 'action'; and little thought may be given to the consequences thereof. Sudden and unexpected changes in alliances, political upsets and revolutions are imminent around the world.

This transit signifies out with the old and in with the new. Forge ahead full throttle. This is a dynamic time filled with scientific discoveries and advancements. Those in science and progressive thought will want to dominate public thinking. Conflicts arise between those who want to explore space and those who want to clean up the earth.

Uranus in Aries has a pioneering, adventurous spirit that has the courage to risk everything in search for individual freedom.

Uranus was last in the sign of Aries from 1928 to 1935.

Saturn in Libra

Saturn is exalted in the sign of Libra. During its’ almost 3 year transit through the sign of Libra, the focus will be on issues of international relationships.

Saturn has to do with authority, and commands respect. Libra understands both sides of a dispute and looks for a workable solution. Saturn in the sign of Venus ruled Libra will strive to achieve balance, integrity, peace and fairness in dealing with others.

Libra is a political sign. Saturn represents government leaders and corporation presidents. Saturn in Libra strives for fairness at all levels; fairness by governments and authorities towards those who are protesting, listening to what they have to say, and fairness by the protesters towards governments and corporations, so both sides can function and achieve their goals.

Saturn was last in the sign of Libra from 1980 to 1983.

In May 2003 astrologer Liz Swoboda took a peak into the future and wrote:

2010 looks like a year of sudden cataclysmic changes and drastic, forced new beginnings. What makes this year so critical is that Pluto moves into a tense T-square with Uranus and Saturn - all three planets are in cardinal signs. This T-square is very similar to the T-square during the Great Depression of the 1930s.  The solar eclipse in July could trigger a major, worldwide financial collapse. Pluto in Capricorn suggests not only that many corporations will go bankrupt, but that the economic troubles will bring down many governments with dizzying speed a revolutions sweep the globe. The crisis that begins in 2010 indicates that things will remain unstable throughout most of the decade.

Stationary Jupiter at 10 Cancer, T-squaring Uranus and Pluto could bring discontent to a crescendo in Europe early in 2014. It looks like as if the revolutionary tidal wave could wash up quickly on our shores. The US will still be the worlds top cop and its primary immigration service as well. The 2014 uprising could give further impetus to constitutional changes being debated by many nations.

In many ways, the Twenty-First Century will be more peaceful and constructive than the Twentieth, despite the likelihood of ecological disasters and resulting conflicts among migrating ethnic-peoples. The wars of this century will be far less destructive than those of the Twentieth, and the new inventions, though equally brilliant, will not threaten our survival.

Perhaps by 2040 we will have learned to solve our conflicts without violence. On the other hand, we may look back on the turbulence of the previous fifty years and realize how much they inspired us to do great things.
